Description

Dog Training Academy by Pet Paradise is a new program that offers career advancement opportunities for our employees while growing our business, by providing an innovative service to our pet parents. We have partnered with Top Tier K9 to offer this program which uses a combination of online and in person classes featuring the most up to date dog training techniques in the industry. Participants can expect to certify in 8 weeks.

In this program, participants will learn about dog behavior, dog communication, classical and operant conditioning, health, and nutrition. It delivers working knowledge of basic and advanced dog training equipment as well as a variety of essential commands.

As a certified Dog Behavior Specialist, you will travel throughout your region and other Pet Paradise locations providing demonstrations, training pets and offering this new service to our pet parents. You will also provide dog training sessions to other associates at the resorts.

Program Criteria:

Application Requirements:

• Employed with Pet Paradise for a minimum of one year, and currently hold a supervisor position or higher.*
• Proven ability to interact and be comfortable with dogs of all breeds and sizes.
• Must be able to interact with customers confidently and be able to offer/sell a variety of products.
• Must be in good employment standing (Attendance, performance, conduct)
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction and/or supervision.
• Must be able to multitask between physical and mental tasks.

Travel Requirements:

• Must be able to travel to Madison, FL for In-Person training
• Must be available Tuesdays and Thursdays for on-line course instruction. These sessions are typically at 10:30 am or 6:30pm.
• Must be able to travel to any Pet Paradise resort to provide training to other associates.

Be prepared to:

• Submit a short essay about why you would like to certify as a Pet Paradise Dog Trainer
• Submit a letter of recommendation from your Resort Manager or Regional Resort Manager
• Travel for training/certification
